France Talent Visa for Corporate Officers

France Residency
Pathway overview

At a glance

This permit may fit you if your company group appoints you to legally represent a company or branch in France. You must already work within the same group. France calls this the Talent – corporate officer route; simply being a manager, shareholder, or business owner does not qualify you.

Prior service
At least 3 months as an employee or corporate officer in the same group
Pay
Currently at least €67,212.60 gross per year
French role
Formally appointed legal representative of a company or establishment in France

Summary

France’s Talent corporate-officer category lets eligible executives and legal representatives move there for a qualifying appointment. The company relationship and the applicant’s prior service must support that appointment. General business ownership is insufficient. The pay requirement follows a multiple of the French minimum wage, so confirm the applicable amount when preparing the file.

The legal office and prior group service determine the route
  1. Confirm the French legal-representative appointment Use the corporate records that establish the actual office.
  2. Prove the group relationship and prior service Connect the earlier employment or office to the French company and check pay.
  3. Apply through the appropriate Talent process Maintain appointment, corporate, pay, and other residence evidence for renewal.

A management title or shareholding alone does not satisfy the legal-representative and same-group requirements.

Could this pathway work for you?

Eligibility

EEA means the EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.

All three route-specific requirements must be documented:

The file generally includes evidence of the French company's existence and group structure, the applicant's appointment and legal authority, proof of the prior three-month role, pay records, identity and immigration documents, a recent French address, and the signed commitment to respect the principles of the French Republic.

The corporate records should use consistent names and dates. If the applicant is not yet formally appointed, the planned appointment must be completed and documented before the application can be approved. If the business is new and there is no same-group history, the Talent project-leader route or ordinary entrepreneur route may be more relevant.

EU/EEA and Swiss citizens usually rely on free movement. Algerian citizens and some other nationality groups should check the special rules that apply to them.

More about this route

The applicant must hold the French legal-representative role, have at least three months of prior service as an employee or corporate officer in an establishment or company in the same group, and receive high enough gross annual pay.

Current Service-Public guidance, verified on 1 June 2026, sets the pay floor at three times the full-time gross minimum wage: €67,212.60 gross per year. The amount is linked to the minimum wage and can change.

What This Route Allows

The card authorizes residence in France and commercial activity connected with the company's stated corporate purpose. It is tied to the qualifying legal-representative role and corporate context.

For a stay under one year, France may issue a long-stay visa that itself serves as the Talent residence permission. For a planned stay of at least one year, the person normally enters on the appropriate long-stay visa and applies online for the multi-year card. A Talent card can be issued for the documented period, within a maximum of four years.

An eligible spouse and minor children can use the simplified Talent-family process rather than ordinary family reunification. The spouse's Talent-family status authorizes work.

Qualifying years may later be relevant to long-term residence, but a separate application must satisfy continuous residence, absence, resources, insurance, French-language, and civic-integration rules.

What This Route Is Not

This route is not:

Owning part of the French company does not by itself establish the required role. The application must show formal authority to legally represent the French establishment or company.

Next Steps

  1. Have French corporate counsel or the company's formal-services team identify the exact legal-representative office and the records that create it.
  2. Map the French company and prior employer or office within the group, using corporate records that clearly prove the relationship.
  3. Collect evidence of at least three months' service in the same group before the French appointment.
  4. Confirm that guaranteed gross annual pay meets the current three-times-SMIC threshold and is consistent across the appointment, payroll, and application documents.
  5. Recheck the live amount on Service-Public immediately before filing.
  6. Use the France-Visas assistant from abroad or ANEF for an eligible in-country application, following the generated checklist and deadlines.
  7. Keep appointment, corporate, pay, tax, and address records for renewal. Check status implications before the legal-representative role ends or materially changes.
