Summary
Thailand Privilege is a state-owned paid membership program that supports repeated long stays through a Privilege Entry Visa. You buy a package of services and stay-related benefits; the payment is a fee, not an investment or refundable bank deposit.
Memberships currently range from five to 20 years. That term is different from the visa and the stay granted at each arrival.

Screening and payment
The current Bronze agreement has no general minimum age, employment, pension-income, investment-return, or health-insurance test. You need a foreign passport, the ability to enter and stay lawfully, successful screening, acceptance of the agreement, and timely payment.
The agreement’s screening grounds include imprisonment judgments other than offenses committed through negligence, bankruptcy, legal incapacity or unsound mind under its wording, and immigration barriers. The authorities assess these conditions; the ability to pay does not guarantee acceptance.
The THB 50,000 application fee is generally credited toward the membership price when an approved applicant completes the purchase. An unsuccessful background review can lead to a refund. Withdrawal by the applicant, inaccurate information, missed deadlines, and other events may be treated differently. Read the exact credit and refund rules before paying.
Family members
Family members are not automatically included. Some packages allow additional members, with separate fees, applications, and screening. Check the specific package terms for each person.

A long membership does not create one uninterrupted immigration permission or make the fee refundable.
What This Route Allows
The program normally arranges a five-year multiple-entry Privilege Entry Visa. Longer memberships involve later visa issuance within the membership term.
Each arrival ordinarily permits up to one year. A member staying longer must follow the required extension process. Passport validity and immigration decisions still affect the permission granted.
Packages may include airport services, a contact center, reporting assistance, travel or wellness services, and annual privilege points. Availability depends on the tier, location, booking rules, quotas, and current agreement. Count on a benefit only if it appears in your current package terms.
You must still follow address, reporting, and extension rules, including relevant 90-day reporting. Unlike a qualifying bank deposit, the membership fee does not remain invested for you.
What This Route Is Not
Membership is not a work visa or work permit. It does not authorize Thai employment, ordinary freelance services performed in Thailand, or other activities requiring labor permission. Establish the appropriate immigration and work arrangement before doing such work.
It does not grant permanent residence, citizenship, property ownership, or an exemption from Thai tax. Membership years do not automatically satisfy the separate permanent-residence or citizenship requirements. Time spent in Thailand can affect your tax position.
The LTR visa is a different BOI program with specific financial or employment requirements, a conditional five-plus-five-year structure, and category-specific work rules. It is not free, and its foreign-remote-worker category does not issue a Thai work permit.
Next Steps
- Compare the official packages, including family costs and the services you will actually use. Read the exact agreement’s screening, refund, cancellation, passport, visa, payment, and termination terms.
- Apply directly or verify an agent through an official channel. Submit complete and accurate records and pay the application fee only as officially instructed.
- Wait for formal approval before paying the remaining membership fee or making relocation commitments. Keep the agreement version, notice, and receipts, and meet the payment deadline.
- Coordinate visa issuance or activation and confirm the first admission, passport-expiry effects, later visa periods, reporting, extensions, and travel arrangements. Check any intended work separately.
