Citizenship by Investment
What is citizenship by investment?
Citizenship-by-investment programs allow eligible applicants to seek citizenship through a qualifying contribution or investment. Government review and approval are still required. Investment residence is a separate outcome and does not itself grant citizenship.
About this guide
A second citizenship is a long-term decision about where you and your family can belong. Its value depends on the rights you need and the commitment you are prepared to make, well beyond a headline investment amount.
This guide compares citizenship programs by their financial requirements and the conditions attached to applying. Consider the full family cost alongside the rights the citizenship would provide. The individual pathways explain the available options and approval process, including commitments that continue after an investment is made.
São Tomé and Príncipe’s fund-donation route is also included. Its contribution is nonrefundable, additional fees apply, and approval in principle is a separate step from the final citizenship grant.
